Already back for 2 days now in the troubled village Alicdale, in which we had another game drive yesterday. This time we went into Amakhala where a 20 year old girl, soon to be level 1 game ranger, drove us around. We spotted several birds and plants and some animals such as lions, antelopes and jackals. Back in Alicedale the people from the Townships were walking in the streets, burning tires and trees which they put on the roads and throwing bricks. The police was shooting rubber bullets and locked up about 50 people. The riot was there because in 20 year 6 million Rand has been saved in order to fix the road between Grahamstown and Alicedale and to build some houses, but the mayor of Grahamstown used to money himself.

Where I have been from Wednesday on? We had a beach practical at Kenton at Sea where we have been looking for interesting animals in the water and on the beach. The nicest one was the penguin! Afterwards we went to Grahamstown with the bus and we picked up our car and had some KFC for lunch. Then on our way via the Garden Route to the first stop: Mossel Bay.

At Mossel Bay we stayed in a luxurious beach house with 2 big bedrooms, a bathroom with bath and shower, a personal kitchen and living room, and a personal terrace! The same night we went out for dinner with Sarah, Maartje and Sharon at Delfino, situated at the beach. Nicely outside, where there was also a possibility to sit inside on sand. I had a delicious spaghetti bolognese, of which I had to take two third home because I couldn't finish it - this time it was not just me, but it was truly a lot!

The next day we were in the car at 8 and drove towards Cape Town! At around half past 12 we arrived at the accommodation; a small hostel in Green Point called something like St. Johns Guest House. It had a small communal kitchen with several bathrooms, in which I had a cold shower the first morning because I didn't understand the system. Afterwards we went to the South African National Museum, similar to Naturalis which furthermore information about the history with for example clay figures. Also we walked through some sort of botanical garden and we went back to the hostel by taxi. We took the car to Table Mountain and went up by cableway where we enjoyed the view over Cape Town at a height of 1 km. We saw a lot of dassies and also the Green Point Stadium, in which Ajax Cape Town plays its matches. Afterwards we went back to the hostel and went looking for a restaurant on foot. We passed the stadium again and we thought that Ajax was playing, thus we went to check for ticket prices. It turned out that Michael Bublé was playing, so for 340 Rand we entered.

Friday we took a taxi to V&A Waterfront due to slacking where we took the boat to Robben Island. We entered a tour bus in which a guide explained us a lot about the island, while driving around. Afterwards we left the bus and got a tour by a political ex-prisoner who has been locked up at Robben Island for 7 years. Also we were shown Nelson Mandela's cell, only 6m²! Afterwards we went to Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope by car, during which we had a delay of 1 hour due to the navigation. Finally we arrived at a very nice place, surrounded by sea, in a National Park with zebras, baboons and ostriches. It was a heavy climb up to the lighthouse at a height of 300m, which was closed and replaced by another one at a height of 80m after a Portuguese ship crashed. The smell of the sea and seeing the water made me extremely happy and afterwards we also spotted quite some penguins at another point at sea. Unfortunately I couldn't have dinner that night due to car sickness, but I did have a good night of sleep.

Saturday we drove off at a quarter to ten towards the N2 for our drive to Tsitsikamma. We made a stop at Mossel Bay to have lunch at the same restaurant and at Knysna to get some ice cream at the harbor. Afterwards we drove on to Tsitsikamma Backpackers where we had dinner with Sarah, Maartja and Sharon in a Marilyn Monroe - Elvis like place with a jukebox which provided free music from that time period, old cars and motorcycles, posters and paintings of people from that time period and Marilyn Monroe like clothing.

Then it was Sunday! The day about which I could barely tell anything in advance to any of my family members, because they wouldn't be able to sleep if so. I did the bungee jump at 9 o'clock in the morning, jumped from a bridge with a height of 219m! Everything went well and I did not even become sick! It was a tad bit inhumane, as I wasn't even nervous when I stood on the edge. I would love to do it again, but then backwards! Sorry mom, hihi. After the bungee jump we went into the National Park of Tsitsikamma where we walked up to the hanging bridges after which Nevill and me climbed a mountain for an awesome view. On our way back home we stopped at Port Elizabeth to check out the Boardwalk and to have dinner at Spur. At 9 o'clock we finally arrived back home again.
